The 2007 National Child Count of Children and Youth who are Deaf-Blind estimated that there were around 10,000 students with deaf-blindness. This means that about .02% of all students in the US have deaf-blindness; this is about about .2% of students covered by IDEA. Another way of stating this: around 1 in 5,000 students have deaf-blindness.
